...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING... The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Bedford, Cheatham, Davidson, Giles, Hickman, Lawrence, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Perry, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wayne, Williamson and Wilson.

* Through Sunday evening.

* Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce moderate to heavy rain today, with a break in the rain tonight before more rain falls on Sunday. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected through Sunday, with locally higher amounts of 4 to 6 inches possible, which may lead to flash flooding.

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including the following areas, in Alabama, Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin AL, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan. In southern middle Tennessee, Franklin TN, Lincoln and Moore.

* Through Sunday evening.

* Multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms this morning through Sunday evening are expected to produce flash flooding across the watch area. Widespread 3-4 inches of rain is forecast with localized higher amounts possible. Efficient rainfall rates may exceed 2 inches/hr. Runoff may also lead to rises on area rivers, creeks, and streams.
