Sydney Martin

Sydney Martin is a reporter for WAAY.

Title: Reporter

After shadowing a chief meteorologist at a TV station in her hometown of Orlando, Sydney decided on the career path that would bring her to Huntsville. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunication News. Sydney reported and anchored for the University of Florida’s PBS affiliate.
Early in her tenure with WAAY-TV, Sydney traveled to Atlanta to cover a crash involving a youth group from Madison County. Spending the day talking with church leaders and people who were on the bus solidified her passion for reporting.
Sydney has enjoyed covering the biggest stories in North Alabama, including the announcement to bring a $1.6 billion dollar automotive plant to North Alabama. She loves living in the Rocket City and seeing it grow into the Star of Alabama.
