3:48 p.m. UPDATE: There has been a possible Corey Davis sighting in Lauderdale County.
WAAY 31 has learned he may have been spotted on County Road 100, off Highway 20 near the Tennessee line.
Davis is a serial rapist serving a life sentence. Police say he's a danger to the public. Florence Police, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office did a special joint investigation into Davis in 2016 that led to a grand jury convicting him.
According to Sgt. Wes Gargis with Florence Police, Davis is a very detailed planner, and each of the crimes investigated that involved him were well-planned and thought through. He says Davis is considered to be extremely dangerous.
Gargis says Davis still had family in the Shoals area, upon completion of the 2016 investigation. He also says he's not aware of any previous escapes by Davis.
Davis has impersonated a police officer before, and Gargis says he went to extreme measures to ensure his rouse or fronts were believed by his victims.
If you see him, don't approach him. Call police. Florence Police say citizens should be vigilant of their surroundings, and doors should always be locked.
