Roy Moore's U.S. Senate campaign has announced its communications director has departed the organization less than a month before the special election.
The Moore campaign says John Rogers departed the campaign last Friday, and it was his decision to leave.
"[A]ny representations to the contrary are false - and we wish him well," the campaign said in a statement.
Rogers had only worked with the campaign for weeks before his departure, and he served while Roy Moore faced multiple accusations from women who said he romantically pursued them while they were teens.
The accusations appear to have negatively affected the GOP nominee's chances of winning against Democrat Doug Jones, as the two are in a statistical dead heat according to some polls. Moore has taken few media questions about the accusations following the reports.
Deputy campaign manager Hannah Ford is now handing any media inquiries because of Rogers' departure.
