UPDATE from Huntsville Utilities:
Service has been restored to all customers in the reported area. Anyone still experiencing a service-related issue should call 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448).
About 4:19 p.m., a contractor bored into a section of underground primary cable on Greene Street near Holmes Avenue. Huntsville Utilities Electric Operations crews responded, isolated the damaged section of line, and made repairs.

Huntsville Utilities reports it is responding to a power outage in downtown Huntsville from Davies North to Monroe Street and from Pin Hook Creek east to Meridian Street.
This included the U.S. District Court on Holmes Avenue. Power was restored there about 5:15 p.m.
According to the outage map, as many as 1,300 customers could be impacted.
Service will be restored as quickly as possible, the company says.
The cause is unknown at this time.
