Russellville and Franklin County are celebrating their 200th birthdays with a Pioneer Day to teach the community about how people lived in the early 1800s.
Kids activities include historical games like sack races, wheel and click, dominoes, and checkers.
There will also be artisan demonstrations on weaving, spinning wheel, knitting, and broom making.
Pioneer Day will feature actors dressed in costumes and several displays of antique tools and clothes.
Activities start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12th and run until 5:00 p.m.
Everything, including parking, is free, and all activities will be set up in the park on the east side of Sloss Lake on Hwy 24. The location is less than 2 miles easy of the intersection of Hwy 24 and Hwy 43.
