There will be no criminal charges against a woman who was arrested last year for the hit-and-run death of a disabled man in Florence.
A Lauderdale County grand jury opted not to indict Christina Carroll, Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said Thursday.
Carroll was arrested for the death of Kevin Doherty, 57, on the night of October 6. Doherty was riding in his electric wheelchair on Cloyd Boulevard when a vehicle hit him and left the area.
Connolly said Carroll turned herself in after consulting with an attorney and was cooperative during the investigation. Connolly said Carroll didn't realize she had hit someone until the following day.
