Gene La Paul Pritchett, 54, of Laceys Spring died in a single-vehicle crash Friday.
Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel, Alabama State Troopers spokesman, said the he was killed when the 1993 Chevrolet van in which he was a passenger left the roadway and struck a tree on Prince Circle about 10 a.m. Friday.
Pritchett, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, Daniel said. The driver, Doc Jeremiah Suits, 40, of Valhermosa Springs was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital.
Daniel said Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
