Investigators with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man after finding 31 stolen catalytic converters at his home, officials said Thursday.

Authorities searched the home of Jason Nathaniel Minton, 32, in the 300 block of County Road 267, near the Threets Crossroads community Thursday morning. Minton is now charged with receiving stolen property and a scrap metals recycler record maintenance violation.

The sheriff’s office said the Florence Police Department shared information about the illegal purchase of catalytic converters and that Minton was in possession of dozens of the devices. Thirty-one have been identified as stolen.

Minton was booked in the Lauderdale County Detention Center with bail set at $31,000.
