Update: The victim is Anna Grogan Brown, 45, from Scottsboro, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The Hollywood Police Department, Hollywood Fire Department, Jackson County Coroner's Office and Highlands Ambulance Service were also involved in the case.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide on County Road 36 in Hollywood.

36-year-old Eric Maurice Scott is now in custody and faces a murder charge. 

The sheriff's office was called out to the home for a shots fired call Monday afternoon. When officers arrived, Scott refused to come out, forcing them to fire gas canisters into the home. 

Scott was taken in custody. Police then found a woman shot and killed. Investigators said she was Scott's girlfriend.

Her identity is not being released at this time. 

According to online court records, Scott has a criminal history with several drug charges. 

WAAY31 learned Scott's brother, Kelcey Scott was also arrested. Officers said he showed up to the scene and refused to leave. He is charged with interfering with a governmental operation.
