Huntsville’s JuVaughn Harrison competed in the qualifying event for the Men’s High Jump at the Tokyo Olympics Thursday night.
Harrison cleared a bar at 2.28 meters (about 7 feet, 6 inches), which qualified him for the medal event.
"The competition was great! I love competition!" Harrison said in an interview after the event.
He’ll jump for gold in the final on Sunday.
