A Huntsville police officer is back on normal duty after shooting a suspect at a Golf Road apartment complex in October.
The police department's Incident Review Board determined Thursday the actions of all officers involved, including the one who shot a suspect, were justified.
Officers responded to Park Place Apartments on Golf Road October 25 where they say they confronted an individual armed with a handgun. Police say the subject pointed his weapon at the officers and one shot the man twice.
The subject, 32-year-old Darrin Fennell, was transported to Huntsville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later charged with menacing, and he was released from the Madison County Jail on bond the night of the shooting.
The Incident Review Board is made up of the Madison County District Attorney's Office, the city's legal department, the Citizens Police Advisory Council and Huntsville police.
