The search is over and Huntsville High School has named Luke Lamm, the head coach at Decatur High School for the last four years, the next leader of their baseball program.
"Huntsville has always been one of the top programs in the state," Lamm told AL.com's Daniel Boyette. "I have always thought their teams played with class and played the game the right way."
Lamm takes over the reigns of Huntsville's program after longtime coach David Sharp stepped down following the 2017-18 season to become the Alabama scouting director for Prep Baseball Report.
He inherits a program that went 24-15 last season, advancing to the Class 7A quarterfinals.
As the head coach at Decatur, Lamm went 90-59, including a program record 35 wins in 2016.
