Huntsville firefighters said at least four dogs died in a house fire Friday near Mastin Lake Road and Memorial Parkway.

Firefighters responded to the home on North Edgemont Circle just before noon after a neighbor called in the fire.

Emergency crews on the scene were able to save three puppies that were in the home. The puppies, which firefighters said appeared to be newborns, were taken to a veterinarian for treatment.

There was no information on how the fire may have started.

Firefighters had the fire extinguished by about 12:30 p.m.
