In the Tennessee Valley, worshiping at church on Sundays is part of many people's lives.

Minister of Music Jack Parker at Lakewood Baptist Church told WAAY 31 church members are praying for those involved in the Texas church shooting.

He understands with the recent shootings, it's always good to be safe.

Lakewood Baptist Church have had a center camera system in place for years.

Someone secures each hallway during worship service and bible study. Plus, doors not in use are always locked.

"We feel that we're in a good place for security. The bible tells us that God did not give us the spirit of fear. Our spirit is out of love. We are not worried and we will continue to go forward. We have no concerns about the future," said Jack Parker.

Parker also said they'll continue reviewing their security policies if more mass church shootings happen in the future.
