A Huntsville Police spokesman announced three officers involved in a deadly shooting in early April have been cleared by an incendent review board of any wrong doing.
The shooting in questioned happened April 3rd on Deramus Avenue. Police were called to a possible suicidal person. Officials dsaythe 911 call was made by Jeffery Louis Parker, 49. He told 911 operators he had a gun. When officers arrives, they did find Parker with a gun in his hand. According to police, they issued several commands for Parker to drop the gun. That's when an officer shot and killed Parker. The three officers at the scene were placed on administrative leave while an investigation into the shooting took place.
Huntsville Police officials say the review board consisted of members from the Madison County DA’s Office, Huntsville City Attorney’s Office, HPD Training staff and The HPD Citizen Advisory Council. They reviewed all video footage, physical evidence, and the officer's testimony. The Incident Review Board found that all officers involved performed within Huntsville Police Policies, Procedures and Training.
