Franklin County authorities said they were looking Wednesday afternoon for a man who ran from them after failing a drug test, Franklin County authorities said.
Troy Eugene Dawson, 47, was in a community corrections program and had failed a random drug test, according to Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver. A deputy at the Franklin County Courthouse tried to arrested him for failing the test and Dawson ran, Oliver said.

Dawson's girlfriend, Melanie Sherrill, was driving a vehicle that Dawson tried to get into, Oliver said. He said the deputy was holding Dawson as he tried to get in the car and Sherrill took off, dragging the deputy.
The deputy was taken to Russellville Hospital with minor injuries.
Sherrill was arrested and charged with second degree assault of an officer, hindering prosecution and possession of methamphetamine. Dawson was able to escape, Oliver said.
Deputies went by Sherrill's home looking for Dawson and said he wasn't there. But while at the home, deputies did arrest Sherrill's daughter, Melanie Mitchell, for meth possession, Oliver said.
Dawson is 5'9" and 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office or their local police department.
