Fort Payne man killed in U.S. 11 crash

The single-vehicle crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. Thursday

A Fort Payne man was killed in a Thursday crash.

Robert Lee Woody, 76, was fatally injured when his 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer left the roadway, hit a culvert and overturned, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 11 near South Valley Avenue, about a mile south of Collinsville.

The incident remains under investigation.
