Fort Payne City Schools ends mask-wearing requirement

The Fort Payne City School System no longer will require the wearing of masks in schools.

Superintendent Brian Jett said the system is shifting to "personal preference for masking inside our facilities" effective after school on Oct. 15.

Due to federal regulations, masks must still be worn on school buses.
