NASA launched the last part of a communications system upgrade into orbit Friday morning.
The United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket carrying NASA's Tracking Data and Relay Satellite-M lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station around 8:30 a.m.
The Atlas V rocket was built at ULA's Decatur facility.
NASA's TDRS system will help provide communication between NASA and vehicles in low-Earth orbit, including the International Space Station.
