Garbage truck catches on fire

According to authorities, the driver said, the fire started in the engine, and then spread to the garbage hull.

Earlier this morning, a garbage truck caught on fire. 

It happened at 7:28 a.m. on Helton Ave. 

According to authorities, the driver said, the fire started in the engine, and then spread to the garbage hull. 

Toney Fire and Rescue posted on Facebook saying, "The fire was brought under control in 10 minutes and was completely extinguished within 20 minutes."

Hydraulic hose lines were melted by the fire. Crews worked to contain the spill. 

Huntsville Fire and Rescue Hazardous Materials team were called in, and no additional leaks were found. 

Right now, crews are working to clean the area, and haul off the truck.
