WAAY 31 spoke to neighbors who told us they woke up to a loud popping noise that sounded like gunshots. After seeing their neighbors house in flames, they called 911.  After crews put out the fire, they located a body inside, who has now been identified as Malone.

Right now no further information is being released about Malone, and it is unclear if he lived inside the home. An investigation into the fire and Malone's death are both being conducted by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
