Bessemer police arrested a man overnight after they said he led them on a chase in one of their patrol cars.
Police pulled over a man overnight for a traffic stop and said they smelled marijuana, Birmingham ABC affiliate ABC 33/40 reported.
Officers chased the suspect, Dexter Jordan, for about 10 miles before they said he ditched the car and ran into some woods.
Jordan was arrested by police and K-9 units, 33/40 reported.
Police told the station they also found six pounds of marijuana in Jordan's car.
He is expected to face multiple charges.
