An Alabama teacher was sent home for wearing a T-shirt that read,"just pray", which the teacher said was in support of a child fighting a brain tumor.
The Mobile County school teacher, Chris Burrell posted on Facebook saying quote, " Getting sent home from work today to change my Just Pray shirt. I purchased this shirt to raise money for #AubreighsArmy. I thought it was fitting to wear today since my kids were testing. I didn't think twice about it."
The teacher said she wasn't trying to promote religion by wearing the shirt.
The teacher went on to say that she was hurt by the situation and it has never happened to her in her 15 years of teaching.
Her social media post is sparking light on the controversial situation.
Although Burrell was sent home, no further disciplinary action has been taken against the teacher, altoday.com reported.
According to wvtm13.com, the principal was not aware of the shirt's connection to raising money for the sick child.
