One person has died after an early Friday morning shooting in Sheffield.
Kalyn Tyjuane Horrison, 26, of Florence died at Huntsville Hospital, said Sheffield Police Chief Rick Terry.
He was among three people shot at Jokers on Hatch Boulevard in Sheffield about 1:30 a.m. Friday, Terry said.
James Terrell Whiteside, 40, of Muscle Shoals is being charged with manslaughter. He’s currently being held in the Colbert County Jail with a $30,000 bond.
The two other shooting victims, one of whom is a security guard at the restaurant/bar, are still in Helen Keller Hospital.
Terry said officers were at a restaurant next door to Jokers early Friday when they heard gunshots coming from the establishment.
Officers went to investigate and found three people shot.
All three were taken to Helen Keller Hospital, and then Horrison was taken to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition.
Terry said they believe the shooting started at the entrance of Jokers and escalated into the parking lot.
