1 dead in house fire in Harvest, Madison County Sheriff's Office investigating

Two patients refused transport for smoke inhalation.

Huntsville Emergency Medical Services says one person is dead after a house fire in the 1,000 block of McKee Road in the Harvest community.

The call about the fire came in about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Madison County Coroner Dr. Tyler Berryhill said the victim is a 27-year-old man who lived at the residence with other family members. He was found deceased in the fire.

Berryhill said an autopsy will be performed this week.

Brent Patterson, Madison County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, said several subjects were present inside the residence when it caught fire.

He said the sheriff's office is assisting the State Fire Marshal's Office.
